The Equipment

Rhodes Field, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA

Located beneath the Philadelphia skyline on the west bank of the Schuylkill River, Rhodes Field on the Penn campus is sand based field construction. This field was built in 1989 and has been renovated with new sod since. The field continues to perform to NCAA Division 1 standards today.

The Equipment

Koro Topmaker
This machine can strip a football field in short period of time while loading all of the spoils directly into a dump cart. The depth of removal can be adjusted from just removing the thatch layer to a depth of 2". The finished stripped field is ready for sod after the Koro has finished.

Blecavator
Reverse tine tiller that blends, incorporates, and prepares the field surface for laser grading.

Sub Soiler
An attachment that can alleviate soil compaction to a depth of 12 – 24" This is done during the initial stages of construction or renovation.

Seeding Equipment
Our stable of seeding equipment includes all types of mechanical seeding and incorporation methods. Our sod farming background gives us the edge over our competition because we have the equipment and knowledge to produce a championship caliber field from seed.

Laser Grading
Slope and cone lasers provide us with the highest accuracy available while using high flotation turf tires for minimal surface disruption.

Tractors / Forklifts
All of our tractors and forklifts are equipped with high flotation turf tires.

Tractor Trailers
We have our own tractors and equipment trailers that allows us to mobilize our fleet on short notice for emergency in season repairs.

Big Roll Installers
Our fleet of big roll installers are capable of installing an entire football field in one day. The installers are equipped with rubber tracks to prevent compaction and surface disruption during installation.
