Penn State University’s Harrisburg campus contracted Hummer Turfgrass Systems to renovate their intramural athletic field in the summer of 2010. The existing grass was removed and the topsoil surface was graded. Turf type tall fescue seed was used because of its performance under high use and lower maintenance. The field was seeded in a crossing pattern and covered with straw mulch and tackifier. The field was ready for use in the Fall 2010 season.
