Lacrosse/Intramural Field : Penn State University

Dating back over three decades, Hummer Turf has a long and distinguished association with Penn State University in the design and construction of high use natural grass athletic fields. From as far back as the 1970’s, Hummer Turf has been instrumental in upgrading everything from Beaver Stadium to the award winning Jeffrey Soccer Field.

Located just south of the Bryce Jordan Center and adjacent to the Intramural Building, this field was the first installation of the enhanced Hummer Sand Drainage System combined with a special drainage base. Bob Hudzik, head of grounds, was instrumental in the design and development of this concept.
